How to Register for TDCJ’s Video Visitation?

1) Creating a Securus account
Before taking a video visitation in The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), you may need to create a Securus account first. To create your Securus account, make sure to follow some steps below!
- First, you need to visit the Securus Login Page here.
- After you are at the Securus Login page, you can then click on the ‘Create an Account’ option.
- By clicking this option, you will be required to enter your email address and password.
- The next page allows you to answer 3 security questions and provide your personal information including your name, address and also phone number. Make sure to select a 4-digit PIN and you are all set.
- After all the required information has been filled, you can submit your registration.
Congratulations! You successfully create your Securus account easily. It’s important to note, you will be able to download the free Securus app and then follow the steps to create an account.
2) Signing up for Video Connect
After creating your Securus account, you can then sign up for video connect.
- To start signing up for video connect, you can just click the ‘Sign Up’ button.
- In the next page, you will be asked to submit a photo or your government issued ID and a photo of yourself. Well, those are submitted to The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) for approval.
- After that, you need to choose ‘Texas’ as the state and choose the site in which your loved one is jailed.
- Once choosing the state, you will receive an email to advise you’re approved.
- After your account is approved, you will then log into request access to communicate with your specific inmate and then schedule your video visitation.

Get to Know about TDCJ’s Tablet Video Visitation
In addition to providing a video visitation system called Securus, The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) also provides tablet video visitation that are around 560 minutes long and come at no cost.
Just like Securus video visitation, TDCJ’s inmates will also be restricted to one remote video visitation per month. The visitors may need to call the warden’s office to schedule a visit. After that, the visitor will get a text or email at the scheduled time. Well, they need to follow the directions in the text or e-mail to access the visitation.
