Video visitation is a good way to connect with your loved one in prison over the internet, without having to worry about crowds and overly busy visitation hours. Visits are able to be scheduled and paid for in advance, allowing you to visit the inmates at times which are convenient for you. Well, here we are going to talk about JailATM Video Visitation.

How to Schedule a Video Call?

Here are some steps to schedule a call:

  • At the first step, you have to sign In.
  • Then, click Calling.
  • After that, click Schedule a Call
  • Please choose the State and Facility and submit the resident’s Last Name or ID.
  • Click Search, and click on the resident you want to schedule a call to.
  • Also, choose In Facility to schedule a call that will take place at the facility or choose Out of Facility to schedule a call that you will connect to from your computer.
  • Afterwards, choose a Date and Time for the scheduled call.
  • If your JailATM account does not have enough funds to schedule the call, then you are going to be asked to choose or enter a payment method. Just follow the on-screen instructions to complete this transaction and schedule your call.

For Note: ‘In Facility’ calls do not cost.

How to Connect to a Scheduled Call?

Here are some steps to connect to a Scheduled Call:

  • At the first step, you have to log in to your JailATM account within 5 minutes of the call start time.
  • After that, you have to click My Account.
  • Then, you are able to click Calling.
  • Please click My Scheduled Calls.
  • Lastly, you are able to click the Connect Button.

How to Make a Direct Dial Call?

Here are some steps to make a Direct Dial Call:

  • At the first step, login to your account.
  • After that, click on Calling.
  • Then, click Start Video Visitation.
  • Please choose the State and Facility and submit the resident’s Last Name or ID.
  • Now, you only need to click Search.
  • Afterwards, click on the resident you want to schedule a call to.
  • Lastly, click Call Now.

How to Cancel a Scheduled Call?

Here are some steps to cancel a Scheduled Call?

  • Firstly, you are able to sign In.
  • After that, click My Account.
  • Then, click Video Visitation.
  • Please click My Scheduled Calls.
  • Afterwards, click the Cancel Button.
  • Lastly, confirm that you want to cancel the call.

Video Visitation Setup and Troubleshooting

You are able to follow the steps below before your first video visit or if you are having trouble with a visit.

Preparation:

  • Remember that Google Chrome is recommended for windows. While Safari is recommended for IOS.
  • Please connect and test your microphone.
  • Also, connect and test the Webcam.

For Note: Camera and Microphone permissions are needed for video visitation. Give permission if prompted, or you are able to check your browser/Flash settings.

Video Test

  • Please click on My Account.
  • After that, click on Calling.
  • Then, click on Video Test.
  • Just follow the directions on the screen.

Warning: If you do not meet the expectations defined in step 4, you might be experiencing a problem with your hardware.

Volume Troubleshooting

We highly suggest you to use a headset with a microphone attached instead of a microphone and speakers. Using a microphone with speakers will be able to cause feedback which may impact sound quality.

Please confirm the below for audio Issues:

  • Make sure that the audio cables are connected and undamaged.
  • Make sure that the volume mixer is turned up.
  • Make sure that the external speakers are on and turned up.
  • Make sure that the default audio device is set to the appropriate speakers.
  • You have to test the audio with another media system.

Also, you have to confirm the below for microphone issues:

  • Make sure that Microphone cables are connected and undamaged.
  • Make sure that the default microphone is set to the microphone you are using.
  • Make sure that the microphone is connected to the correct input on the PC.
  • You have to test if the microphone works with any playback software.

Refund Request

You have to know that JailATM.com does not issue refunds for issues originating from the caller end including but not limited to:

  • Internet Connectivity Issues
  • PC Issues
  • Browser issues

For any other refund requests, you are able to choose “Contact Us” and fill out the form. For your information, all refunds requests are reviewed on a per issue basis within 72 hours of the request. If approved, the refund is going to be issued as a credit to your account.

Video Visitation on Mobile Devices

Probably, your mobile device will not be compatible with JailATM video visitation. To make sure your device is compatible with JailATM video visitation, then your device will need:

  • Video taking capabilities
  • Chrome Browser v.57 or above
  • Android v.5.01 or above
  • Apple iOS v.12.1.0 or above

Warning: Older versions of Android may work, but are not supported. Video visitation will work best when using a home computer or laptop. You should follow the steps provided under the topic “Video Visitation Setup and Troubleshooting” to setup and troubleshoot problems with video visitation.

Time Zone or Scheduling issues

To avoid problems or issues with video calls and scheduling due to time zone differences, you have to ensure that your time zone is set correctly on your account.

You are able to check this by:

  • Firstly, login to your account.
  • After that, navigate to the Settings section.
  • Then, choose Account Details.
  • Now, you are able to select the Appropriate Time Zone.
  • Please click Save.

Enable Mic and Camera

If you want to enable your microphone or camera, you are able to do these steps:

For Chrome:

  • Firstly, open Chrome
  • At the far right by the address bar, you are able to click the three vertical dots.
  • After that, click “Settings.”
  • At the bottom of the page, you are able to click “Advanced.”
  • Under “Privacy and security”, you have to click “Content Settings.”
  • In this step, you are able to click “Camera” or “Microphone. “
  • Please enable “Ask before accessing. “

For Note: If JailATM is listed under “Block”, you have to push the trash can icon to remove it from the “Block” list.
